For this graphic design project, I utilized Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create a movie poster and graphic novel cover for the Korean movie Train to Busan. this showcases my skills in digital illustration and design. My goal was to capture the essence of the visual storytelling medium, blending cinematic and graphic novel elements to produce striking and cohesive designs.
AWARD:
For this original movie poster, I drew inspiration from Morag Myerscough distinct style, known for its striking visuals, pop-art influences and bold, bright color palette. I was honored to receive the Dean’s Award for Static Design at Valencia College for my original movie poster.
As I progressed with the project, I made a deliberate decision to shift the overall style to better reflect the narrative’s darker themes. This transition involved altering the color palette from the bright and bold hues of the original movie poster to a more subdued, dark and gloomy scheme for the graphic novel cover.
